Closing a soyMAIL Session
Reasons For Using Logout
- Needing to access the VMS Mail of another account (without closing the
browser)..
- Removes the need to completely close the browser to remove all traces
of the previous authentication.
- With Internet kiosks or other public access points it provides another
element of additional privacy (and security) that should be maintained by
explicit clearing of the browser history and closing the application itself.
Procedure to Logout
Login Page Notes
- Depending on site administration the login page may be re-presented if the
soyMAIL session is idle in excess of the configured period (by default one
hour). Merely reenter the required username and password and the session
should be returned to the page previously being used.
- Excessive incorrect username and/or password attempts will usually
result in session lockout. After any more than three or four unsuccessful
attempts you should attempt to confirm your login credentials from whatever
personal or site source. If lockout does occur you will need to wait a number
of minutes before trying again or contact local system administration
requesting it be cleared.
NOTE: These instructions are for soyMAIL autogenous authentication.
